Your March Love and Sex Horoscope: Spring Into Sexy Times!

A month that bridges icy, grey, frigid days and the initial flirtations with blossoms and warmth, March is a month steeped in hopefulness. It’s no wonder the month has such a dualistic quality. After all, half its days are firmly planted in dreamy, escapist mutable water sign Pisces, while the rest are marked by fiery, impulsive, take-charge cardinal fire sign Aries. Just like going from subzero temperatures to T-shirt weather, our journey between the last sign of the zodiac and the first can induce a case of vibe whiplash.

How will your love life change over the next 12 months? Find out now!

This March throws another curveball our way in the form of a Mercury retrograde that will last from March 5 to 28. When the planet of communication moves backward, it tends to set off misunderstandings and technological breakdowns galore, while simultaneously encouraging us to tend to old business and tie up loose ends in order to ultimately move forward. With this retrograde occurring in illusion-loving Pisces, we may struggle even more to nail down reality. In matters of the heart, this might spell misguided relationship moves like attempting to reunite with an ex or being on a completely different page than your lover.

On March 6, Uranus, the planet of sudden shifts and revolution, moves from fiery Aries into grounded Taurus, where it will remain for the next seven years, urges us to make changes that promote comfort, sensuality, and perhaps even commitment. That same day marks a new moon in Pisces, the perfect time to set seeds of intention related to romance and wish fulfillment.

On March 20, the sun enters Aries, and the sky will light up with a supermoon in the independent fire sign’s opposite: partnership-oriented Libra. This juxtaposition will urge us to take stock of our identities apart and within our closest relationships. We’ll be reflecting on themes of balance and reciprocity.

The spring equinox kicks off a cascade of change, as Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and money, moves from cool, platonically-inclined air sign Aquarius—where its been since March 1—to deeply feeling Pisces on March 26, boosting the urge to forge or nurture all-encompassingly intimate soulful bonds. And on March 31, Mars, the planet of action, shifts into Gemini, encouraging multitasking and a temptation to connect with, well, anyone and everyone. Talk about whiplash! Keying into our inner compasses and staying true to our personal desires can keep us centered in during this flurry of astrological activity.

Here, what each sign can expect in matters of love and between the sheets this March. (If you know your rising sign, you’ll do well to check out that sign’s forecast, too.)

Aries (March 21–April 19)

While Mercury is retrograde in your twelfth house of spirituality from March 5 to 28, you’ll do well to prioritize taking time to yourself to reflect on your needs. A deep dive into your psyche may not be your idea of a good time, but journaling, meditating, or having meaningful conversations with loved ones can offer insight that leads to growth in your relationships. Around March 20, the full moon in your seventh house of partnership urges you to speak up and take action to deal with imbalances. If you feel like your lover isn’t meeting you halfway, calling them out can promote healing.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Around March 20 when the full moon is in your sixth house of daily routine, switching up your schedule could have you feeling more balanced mentally and physically. Leaning on a partner or a potential S.O. can help you solidify these healthier habits while boosting your bond. While Venus moves through your eleventh house of networking from March 26 to April 20, group or double dates might feel more appealing than one-on-one time with your bae. If you’re single, you’ll do well to take friends up on their copious invites to happy hours or weekend getaways, because you never know who you could meet and instantly click with.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Around March 20 when the full moon is in your fifth house of romance, you could come to a pretty bold conclusion about the type of fun you’ve been having. Whether a connection you’ve been pursuing isn’t satisfying you on a deep enough level, or you’re itching to break free of a commitment and meet new people, you’ll want to assert your desires now. And while Mars is in your sign from March 31 to May 15, you may feel a bit overwhelmed with all the options for date night activities—or, if you’re single, dates! Getting clear on what you truly want and really holding that vision in mind helps you find your center and enjoy the moment-to-moment, ever-shifting fun.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

While Venus is in your eighth house of sexual intimacy from March 1 to 26, chances are you’ll be enjoying a plethora of intellectual conversations, group hangs, and lots of laughter with your partner or a potential mate. These seemingly chill interactions foster your mental connection and, in turn, elevate your physical chemistry. You may be seriously blown away by the fireworks. Around March 6, you’ll do well to set an intention related to an adventure you’ve been craving. Whether its experimenting with exhibitionism or taking a road trip, getting out of your comfort zones together can make for an unforgettable time and, in the long-run, a even deeper bond.

Leo (July 23-August 22)

Around March 6, the new moon in your eighth house of sexual intimacy nudges you to speak your truth to your S.O. or potential partner. If you’ve been wanting to explore a certain kink or connect on a deeper emotional level with your lover, setting your intention and making your needs known now sets the stage for a more fulfilling experience. Just be sure not to let destructive, old patterns—or partners!—from the past steer you off course, as Mercury will be retrograde in that zone from March 5 to 28. Acknowledging where you’ve been while keeping an eye toward progress and the future serves you best.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

While Mercury is retrograde in your seventh house of partnership from March 5 to 28, you may have to retrace your steps with certain ex drama or a recurring emotional issue with your current love. It’s alright to let yourself go back in time—as long as you’re focused on tying up loose ends in a way that allows you to truly move forward. Then, while the sun is in your eighth house of sexual intimacy from March 20 to April 20, you could be uncharacteristically drawn to fiery, magical-seeming flirtations or practices with your partner that feel super-hot in the moment but lack staying power. If you can treat it as a way to get more comfortable being in the moment, go for it.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Around March 20, the full moon in your sign may bring your attention to inequalities in your closest relationship. You’ll want to get clear on what you will and won’t stand for, then set boundaries that reflect this. It may be uncomfortable, sure, but no one knows better than you that finding balance in your bonds is integral to inner peace. And while the sun is in your seventh house of partnership from March 20 to April 20, you’ll be itching to take on big picture projects with the help of your S.O. Whether that’s setting up a new family budget, doing creative brainstorming around a side hustle, or planning a summer trip, working together as a team elevates your success—and your connection.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Around March 6, when the new moon is in your fifth house of romance, imagine how greater spontaneity could infuse your current relationship or a future one with an exciting new energy. Giving yourself permission to loosen up the reins and go with the flow now can set a pulse-racing tone that has steamy sparks flying every which way. That same day, Uranus moves into your seventh house of partnership for seven years. You’ll want to start meditating on changes that would make your closest bonds more fulfilling. No need to flip the switch just yet, but you’ll be prioritizing these desires in the months and years ahead.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

While the sun is in your fifth house of romance from March 20 to April 20, you’ll be drawn to adventurous encounters with a current or new lover. A free-spirited, fun-loving vibe permeates your bond, urging you to be more impulsive and playful than usual. This is sure to set the stage for ridiculously hot fun—that you’ll want to have wherever and whenever the mood strikes. And then Mars’ transit through your seventh house of partnership from March 31 to May 15 can fuel intellectual pursuits with your S.O. The more mental stimulation you can find together, the more sexy electricity you’ll feel.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

On March 6, Uranus’ move into your fifth house of romance is like a channel change that can get you thinking about new ways to inject fun, creativity, and playfulness into your life. While none of these things may feel as important as work, you could find that leaning into the lighter side of life leaves you feeling energized, refreshed, and even more ready to take on the world. While Venus moves through your third house of communication from March 26 to April 20, you may find you’re having more emotional conversations with your bae or a potential partner than usual. This isn’t your comfort zone by any means, but challenging yourself to put what’s in your heart into words allows you to connect on a different, deeper level.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

While Venus is in your sign from March 1 to 26, your trademarked version of romance—the kind that brings groups together and is marked by friendly, intellectually-stimulating repartee—is setting the tone. You’ll find that your social calendar is easily packed with parties, double dates, volunteering opportunities,  and trivia nights. You may also be inspired to make quirky plays for the attention—or commitment—of your object of affection. You do you, Aquarius. Around March 20, the full moon in your ninth house of adventure might mark an eye-opening experience, like travel. Enjoying the experience with a lover could have you feeling optimistic and centered.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

While Mercury is retrograde in your sign from March 5 to 28, you might feel like you’re speaking a different language than those closest to you and be more prone to getting lost in daydreams, especially those you’ve held onto for ages. Finding ways to be mindful and more present in the moment (think breathwork or yoga) can boost your inner peace and patience, as you continue to clarify your emotional needs. While Venus is in your sign from March 26 to April 20, you’ll be yearning for that fairy tale, dramatic, poetic love you feel like you’ve been dreaming of since you were a kid. Sare your needs with your current partner, or, if you’re single, set your intention in a clear, positive way, perhaps writing it down or speaking it aloud to a dear friend. You may be pleasantly surprised how this moment supports you to manifest exactly what you envision.
